Helping you find your way in the horse world.
Welcome to Heels Down Co.
I’m Caitlin, the person behind Heels Down Co., and I’m glad you’re here.
For me, horses have always represented more than simply riding. There’s something special about the connection between horse and rider, the quiet moments at the barn, the time spent learning, the challenges that make you better, and the feeling of finally accomplishing something you’ve worked toward.
The horse world has a way of teaching you patience, confidence, perseverance, responsibility and—sometimes—the importance of simply getting back in the saddle and trying again.
But it can also be overwhelming.
There is a lot to learn, a lot of terminology to understand, and an endless amount of equipment, clothing, products, and advice to sort through. And when you’re new to it all, it isn’t always obvious where to begin.
That’s why I created Heels Down Co.
Why Heels Down Co. Exists
I want Heels Down Co. to be a place where people can find their way in the horse world, no matter where they’re starting from.
Maybe you’re completely new to horses and aren’t sure what you need, what questions to ask, or even where to begin.
Maybe you’re a young rider who dreams of having a horse of your own someday. You may not be able to make that dream happen yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn, explore, and be part of the horse world in the meantime.
Maybe you’ve ridden before and are finding your way back to the saddle after years away.
Or maybe you’ve been around horses for years but want a refresher, a different perspective, or up-to-date information on something you haven’t dealt with in a while.
Wherever you are in your journey, there is always room to learn something new.
And I believe you shouldn’t have to feel like you need to know everything before you feel like you belong.
What You’ll Find Here
Heels Down Co. is about more than products. It’s about the lifestyle, the learning, and all the little things that come with being a horse person.

Finding the Right Things
One of the things I enjoy most about creating Heels Down Co. is finding products and ideas that can actually be useful.
There are countless riding products, barn essentials, clothing options, and lifestyle items out there. Sometimes having too many choices can make finding the right one just as difficult as not having enough choices.
When I research and recommend something, I look at things like quality, usefulness, functionality, style, value, and how well it fits the intended purpose.
I’m not interested in recommending something simply because it’s popular or because an affiliate relationship exists.
The goal is to give you useful information, help you understand your options, and make it a little easier to decide what makes sense for you and your horse.
Because what works wonderfully for one rider may not be the right choice for another—and that’s perfectly okay.
A Little More About Me
I’m building Heels Down Co. because I genuinely believe the horse world should feel more approachable.
Everyone starts somewhere.
Some people grow up surrounded by horses and can’t remember a time when they weren’t riding. Others discover horses later in life. Some have to wait years before circumstances allow them to pursue something they’ve always dreamed about. And some step away from riding for a while before eventually finding their way back.
There isn’t one right way to become part of the horse world.
That’s something I want Heels Down Co. to reflect.
You don’t have to have the perfect horse, the newest equipment, years of experience, or everything figured out to belong here.
You have to start somewhere.
If Heels Down Co. can help someone learn something they didn’t know yesterday, feel a little more confident walking into a tack store, make a better-informed purchase, understand something that once seemed confusing, or simply keep a horse-related dream alive until they’re ready to pursue it, then it’s doing what I hoped it would do.
Affiliate Transparency
Some links on Heels Down Co. may be affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, I may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.
These relationships help support the work that goes into researching products, creating content, and maintaining Heels Down Co.
However, an affiliate relationship does not determine whether something is recommended. Products are considered based on factors such as relevance, usefulness, quality, functionality, style, value, and suitability for the intended use.
I believe in being transparent about these relationships so you can make informed decisions when exploring products and recommendations on this site.
